Iowa Fish and Fishing
Back in April of 1951 when you received your copy of the Iowa Conservationist, you would have seen the headline: (for those that have lost their copy, "I know it's around here somewhere!" I've attached my copy of the issue below.)
Actually the first edition of Iowa Fish and Fishing, according to the Biennial Report wasn't printed until May but that's no reason not to drum up some early sales.

OK, so let's take a look at the history of Iowa Fish and Fishing during its 73rd anniversary in the attachment below. I have also attached an additional old advertisement/article for the third edition from the Iowa Conservationist just for fun. With the printing of the third edition in 1956 you could not only get the book for $2.50 you could buy a set of two posters of all of Maynard Reece's 18 color fish plates from the book for $2.00 and you could also get a portfolio containing the 18 individual fish plates for an additional $2.00. Try running one of those portfolios down today. I finally did last year, they didn't cost no $2.00 either.
I should also not fail to mention that many of the retirees on my Wayback Wednesday mailing list helped write the 5th edition of Iowa Fish and Fishing that came out in 1987. You know who you are and for those that don't know, from page IV of that edition:
